The learning centre was established to help individuals to improve and update language and numeric skills (i.e. - form filling, spelling, comprehension, everyday sums and understanding bills). Learning is geared to the needs of the individual, start on a one-to-one basis and then progress to a small group. Accreditation can be provided.

An adventurous group of actors always on the look out for any kind of talent on or off the stage. We aim for at least two productions a year plus occasional workshops as well as some social events and trips. Rehearsal times vary according to season.

Another part of this group is the youth section known as b.a.d.y.s. (Baltinglass amateur dramatics youth section) who, in 2004, put on their first production to the great delight of the community.

The credit union is a local based financial cooperative owned and controlled by its members. The services are directed towards improving the economic and social wellbeing of its members. Founded in 1974 and moved to present premises in 1977 the board meets once a month to direct policy while the sub-committees meet more often to deal with loan applications and other urgent matters. Directors and supervisors are elected by the members at the AGM each year.

Started in 2003 motivated by the Special Olympics preparations.

The group organises an event each summer which includes the entire local and surrounding community clubs and groups who choose to participate. This aims to be a family day of fun and is an opportunity for people to demonstrate their efforts of song and dance on a stage in front of the Court House.

The Legion of Mary is an association of Catholics and an apostolic organisation. Its first aim is the sanctification of its members by prayer and active co-operation of spreading the faith. The unit of the Legion of Mary is called a Praesidium, which holds regular weekly meetings. There are three Praesidia in the parish: the Junior Praesidium (age 8 years and older) which meets every Saturday from 11-12 noon in Stratford Church; a Senior Praesidium meets every Monday in Baltinglass in the Lalor Centre at 6.30 - 7.30pm; and another Senior Praesidium meets every Monday in Grangecon Church from 6.30 - 7.30pm. Meals are delivered by volunteer drivers organised by the local Baltinglass Senior Citizens Committee. In existence for over 25 years, meals are delivered on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays to people who, for social or medical reasons, are unable to provide a meal for themselves. Rainbows

Rainbows is a peer support programme for children from 5-18 years who have suffered a significant loss in their lives either by death or separation. The programmes consists of 12 weekly sessions of 40 - 45 minutes. Children are divided into groups of five according to age. Trained facilitators are attached to each group.

The Baltinglass 4th Wicklow Group is comprised of a Cub Pack and Scout Troop.

Both sections are open (subject to space available) to boys and girls of any religious persuasion who are prepared to take the Scout Promise.

The Cub Pack caters for 8-11 year olds. Cubs meet Friday nights from 7:00pm-8:30pm.

The Scout Troop caters for 11-15 year olds. Scouts meet Friday nights from 7:00pm-8:30pm.

Our aim is to engender a love of music which will last for life through participation, performance and listening. We hold weekly classes and practice sessions for Brass and Wind instruments. Music appreciation classes also available. We welcome all ages (children and adults). We also organise trips to concerts and visiting performers are also encouraged.

The aim of the Society is to foster an interest in local and national history from prehistoric times to the recent times. The membership is drawn from West Wicklow, Carlow, Kildare and Dublin. The Society organises lectures and discussions in winter months and outings during the summer months. Membership €10 per individual and €15 per family.
